A moving 3-hour round-trip hike from the Bisate trailhead through bamboo forest to the site of the old Karisoke Research Camp, where Dian Fossey studied mountain gorillas from 1967 until her murder in 1985. Her grave sits next to the gorilla she loved most, Digit, surrounded by a small cemetery of other gorillas killed by poachers.
