The result is uncrowded beaches, some of the Indian Ocean's most pristine coral walls, hills carpeted with clove trees (Pemba produces 70% of the world's cloves) and colonies of the endemic Pemba flying fox — the island is also a birder's paradise with 4 endemic birds.

Highlights

  • Pristine coral walls for diving
  • World's clove capital (70% of world supply)
  • Pemba flying fox colonies
  • 4 endemic bird species
  • Ngezi Forest Reserve
  • Uncrowded white beaches
