Scenic park wedged between Lakes Abaya and Chamo — Burchell's zebra on the Nechisar plains and 'crocodile market' on Lake Chamo.
Nechisar ('white grass') National Park covers 514 km² of savanna, hot springs and two Rift Valley lakes between the town of Arba Minch and the Guge Highlands. The park's name comes from the sun-bleached grass plains that host 1,500+ Burchell's zebra and the endemic Swayne's hartebeest. Lake Chamo's 'Crocodile Market' is a gravel bar where 40+ huge Nile crocodiles bask most mornings.
Real observations published to GBIF by researchers, lodges, and citizen scientists — refreshed daily.
