About Rubondo Island National Park
Rubondo is a 457 km² forested island park in Lake Victoria. Its habituated chimpanzee community (descendants of 16 chimps released in the 1960s) can be tracked on foot. Endemic sitatunga antelope thrive in the marshes, and 300+ bird species include African fish eagles nesting at every bay. Only one lodge on the island.
