About King's Palace Museum (Nyanza)

The King's Palace Museum at Nyanza (Rukari) is a faithful reconstruction of the traditional Rwandan royal court β€” a large thatched beehive hut compound where the kings (Mwami) lived until 1931. The palace keeps a small herd of the ceremonial long-horned Inyambo cattle, trained to respond to traditional song.
