About Mount Karisimbi

Mount Karisimbi is the highest of the Virunga volcanoes and Rwanda's tallest peak. The 2-day trek climbs through bamboo, Hagenia-Hypericum, afro-alpine giant senecio and, at 4,200 m, a surprising frosty campsite — summits often wear ice in the early mornings. Considered Rwanda's toughest high-altitude hike.
