Overview

Mikumi is Tanzania's fourth-largest national park and a five-hour drive from Dar es Salaam on the paved Morogoro highway. Its Mkata Floodplain supports elephant, giraffe, zebra, eland, sable antelope and resident lion prides. Not as dramatic as the northern circuit, but a real safari in a single long weekend without a bush flight.
