The Chogoria route is the most beautiful approach to Mt Kenya — dramatic volcanic cliffs above the Gorges Valley, the turquoise Lake Michaelson set in a 300-metre amphitheatre, and the rarely-visited eastern moorland rolling to the horizon.
A 4-day round-trip from Chogoria summits via the south-west ridge of Point Lenana, then descends the same route. Pair with Sirimon as a 5–6 day traverse for the full experience.
