Overview

The Sirimon route is the driest, gentlest and most popular way to reach Point Lenana. Dry moorland ridges, giant lobelia 'cabbage trees' and remarkable acclimatisation profiles make this the safest trek for first-time altitude walkers.

Days 1–3 build slowly from 2,650 m at Sirimon Gate to the 4,200 m Shipton's Camp at the foot of the Gorges Valley. A pre-dawn summit on Day 3 reaches Point Lenana (4,985 m) for sunrise over the twin peaks of Batian and Nelion. Day 4 descends to the gate and back to Nairobi the same evening.

Route: Nairobi → Sirimon Gate (2,650 m) → Old Moses (3,300 m) → Shipton's (4,200 m) → Point Lenana (4,985 m) → Old Moses → Nairobi
