Overview

Watamu is Kenya's most bio-diverse coastline — a national marine park with fringing reef, green-turtle nesting beaches and the Mida Creek mangroves. A half-hour inland sits Gede, a 13th-century Swahili stone town abandoned in the 17th century and now a silent ruin in the forest.
